(Re)Learning PHP

I’ve been using PHP as a web scripting language for a couple years now. As with the handful of other programming/scripting languages acquired over the years, I’ve never gotten around to truly mastering it as much as I’d like to. Since I only use it for personal hobby projects (meaning, my own meager site and whatever little limited-scope web apps I build for myself), my knowledge of the true power of PHP has been extremely limited.

I’d like to change that.

There are lots of great resources out there devoted to learning PHP. Books, websites, classes, whatever. In fact, there are so many, it gets kind of overwhelming. So naturally I turn to crowdsourcing.

Help me (re)learn PHP. What books have you read or do you recommend that I pick up to get myself fully immersed in the full power of PHP? What are the best sites to read?

Please help me out by leaving suggestions in the comments on this post, or linking to your responses elsewhere, or if you reply to me on Twitter, use the hashtag #relearnphp so I can more easily track responses.

Thanks!

(Clarification: I don’t need help re-learning the really basic stuff like strings and operators. What I never learned is the more advanced stuff like objects, classes, constructors, etc. That’s the stuff I want to learn now.)
